About the Management 

Toshiaki (Toshi) Komatsu, Managing Director

Toshi founded Recruiters in September 2008 and helped grow Recruiters into the outstanding boutique search firm in Japan, offering a hybrid mix of retained and contingency search solutions to global clients.

His client list includes a mix of Fortune 500 companies and established Japanese companies, start-ups and venture companies, where he has successfully recruited country managers as well as functional heads across the industries.

He has also worked on many cross border searches, and has driven partner tie-ups across the Asia Pacific region. Whilst his primary focus has been in the industrial space, he has also delivered on many notable searches in the consumer sector and human resource functions.

Toshi has been one of the active opinion leader of the local recruitment industry. Since 2002, he has published over 20 career related books, and some of those were translated to both Chinese and Korean languages. Regularly Toshi appears on TVs, radio programs, internet, newspapers and magazines. He has regular monthly columns on business magazines, and making business speeches for government, educational institutions, and business associations.

Toshi was born and educated in Tokyo. He has spent more than 10 years living in South East Asia and United States of America. Toshi started his career working for Sumitomo Corporation, Japanese conglomerate, and later worked for Hudson, which is a global executive recruiting company.  　

Toshi was graduated from Keio University of Japan, majored in Political Science. He is a father of a son and a daughter.
